The drive to Rogoznica leaves the airport on the coastal road north, tracing the shoreline past Kaštela Bay before the route opens onto the low, rocky headlands that lead towards Šibenik. This stretch of road runs close enough to the water for long sea views on a clear day, with the outline of Čiovo and the Trogir channel visible behind you for the first part of the drive before the coast turns more open and exposed further north. Marina Frapa sits inside its own sheltered inlet a short distance before the town centre, reached by a turn off the main road that most rental-car satnavs still get wrong, one of the small reasons a driver who already knows the entrance saves real time at the end of a long travel day. At thirty-four kilometres and around thirty-five minutes under normal traffic, it's a manageable first or last leg of a sailing trip, not long enough to need a stop, but long enough to be glad of a fixed price agreed before you land. Traffic on this section is generally light outside the tightest July and August weekend changeover windows, when charter turnarounds across the whole coast tend to cluster around Saturday mornings.

Rogoznica itself is a working fishing town built across a narrow isthmus, with Marina Frapa occupying the calmer of its two bays. The marina has picked up more "best in the Mediterranean" awards than almost any other on the Adriatic, and it shows in the detail: a proper reception building, a dry-stack boatyard, restaurants that stay open well past the last mooring line, and a level of service that regular charter guests tend to notice immediately compared with smaller marinas further along the coast. Away from the pontoons, the old town spreads over the isthmus in tiers of pale stone, with a small daily market and a walk up to the Church of Our Lady of Loreto for a view back over both bays at once, worth the climb even for visitors only passing through for an afternoon. It's a place built around boats rather than beaches, so summer crowds gather at the marina bars rather than on a promenade, and the town keeps a working, slightly salt-stained character even in August. A scattering of small islands sits just offshore, popular with day-sailors making short hops out of the marina, and the deeper water beyond Rogoznica's own bay has long attracted technical divers exploring the coastline's steeper underwater walls.

Šibenik and its UNESCO-listed cathedral are twenty minutes further up the coast, an easy add-on for a full-day charter changeover. Krka National Park's waterfalls are a similar distance inland, well worth the detour if your schedule allows a half day away from the boat. Along the coast in the other direction, the quieter villages of Ražanj and Grebaštica make an easy half-day out from the marina by road or by tender, both a short private transfer away in their own right if you're basing yourself in Rogoznica for longer. Closer to hand, the town of Primošten with its distinctive peninsula old town is a short drive south, popular for an evening out away from the marina restaurants, and the vineyards inland from Primošten produce some of the better-regarded local wine on this part of the coast, worth seeking out if you're staying more than a few nights.
