Klis Fortress stands on a rocky pass above Split, with wide views over the city, the coast and the islands, and many visitors know it as a filming location of Game of Thrones. From there the coast road runs through the Kaštela villages to Trogir, an old town on a small island with stone lanes, a cathedral and a waterfront promenade, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an easy half day that also suits guests with a long wait before a flight.
